Everything your destination website does, in one place.
TourOS brings content, listings, events, maps and trip planning into one foundation. Start with the core platform, then switch on the optional modules your destination needs.
Core platform
The everyday work of tourism, in one CMS.
The foundation of a TourOS site. Your staff run all of it without calling a developer.
Business directory
Add businesses by hand, import a CSV, or start a listing from the business’s own web address. Each listing records when it was last verified, and businesses get reminders to review it.
Events calendar
Staff publish events, and the public can submit their own through the site. Calendar feeds in .ics format let people follow along in the calendar app they already use.
Pages and stories
Publish the pages and stories that make your place worth the trip. Staff can also edit the wording used across the site without calling a developer.
Newsletters
Write, send and measure newsletters in the same place you manage the rest of your content.
Print visitor-guide requests
Visitors request your printed guide on the site. Staff export mailing labels and mark requests mailed, and personal details are removed on a schedule.
Site notices
Post closures, weather and road work notices across the site. Publish PDF documents and each edition of your visitor guide alongside them.
Areas
Organize content by area of any kind, such as a county, a town or a district, nested to any depth.
Optional modules
Add what your destination needs.
Dixon Digital grants modules under your license, and your team chooses which licensed features to turn on. None of them is required.
Optional
AI visitor concierge
Answers visitor questions from your published content, with links back to the places and information behind its answers. It is read-only and stays on the topic of visiting.
Optional
Itineraries
Group stops by day, show them on a map route, and let visitors download the whole plan as a PDF.
Optional
My Trip
Visitors save stops as they browse, then download a personal trip guide as a PDF with QR codes. Saved stops stay in the visitor’s own browser, with no account to create.
Optional
Business portal
Businesses sign in to see their listings, request corrections, confirm reviews, answer inquiries, submit offers and file reports. Staff approve every listing claim.
Optional
Landing pages
Extra campaign pages, in your site’s own design.
Optional
Custom records
Record types your destination defines, for content that does not fit a listing, an event or a page.
Opt-in extras
These never switch on by themselves, even when your site upgrades to a new release. Each one is turned on only when you ask for it.
Optional
Site MCP
Staff connect their AI assistant to edit site content, with the same CMS permissions they already have.
Optional
Multi-site
Run several distinct, branded sites from one CMS.
Optional
Event widgets
Partners embed your upcoming events on their own sites, with no TourOS account or API key. The embed loads no external scripts, fonts, images or analytics tags.
Optional
Offers
Businesses submit offers through the business portal. There is no payment: a visitor redeems the offer with the business.
Optional
Live conditions
Show live readings on your site, such as USGS river gauges.
Optional
Partner syndication
Share content with partner destinations.
AI in TourOS
AI where it helps, and nowhere else.
For visitors
The AI visitor concierge
An optional concierge grounded in your published destination content, with links back to the places and information behind its answers.
Answers from a search of your published content, and is built never to invent hours, prices, events or web addresses.
Every factual recommendation carries a citation, and it says so when it has no evidence.
Read-only, and it stays on the topic of visiting.
If it cannot connect, its button hides and the page keeps working.
For your staff
AI in the editor
AI proposes section designs and page styles for your site. A person reviews them and decides what gets saved.
AI designs the things a site is built from; it does not write pages.
Security and accessibility
Built to be looked after.
Plain safeguards for the people who run your site, and carefully built screens for the people who visit it.
Security
Separate logins
Staff and businesses sign in through separate logins, each with its own permissions.
Protected public forms
Public forms are rate-limited to slow down anyone trying to flood them.
A hardened concierge
The AI visitor concierge is hardened against prompt injection and can only read published content.
Signed licenses
Licenses are cryptographically signed. A license problem never takes your public site down; only staff editing is restricted.
Accessibility and languages
Built-in contrast checks
When staff save a theme, TourOS refuses colors that would fail its contrast checks.
Accessible core screens
The directory, events, My Trip, search and the business portal are rendered by the core, so they are not rebuilt for each site.
Checked before launch
On every site we build, we check accessibility and speed before launch.
Interface in seven languages
English, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, German and French. Your destination content is not translated.
Under the hood
One deployment per destination.
TourOS is built on Next.js and Payload CMS, with a managed Postgres database. One deployment serves one destination, by design: your site does not share a system with anyone else’s.
The platform ships as versioned monthly releases. Your site picks up improvements without a rebuild, and new extras stay off until you ask for them.
Dixon Digital owns the platform, and you use it under license. Your content and domain stay yours. If you choose not to renew, we export your content in a standard format so you can take it elsewhere.
Next step
See which pieces fit your destination
Every project starts with a conversation about what you need; we scope it, then price it.
